Living with a Chinese host in a ¡°Homestay¡± is
the best and most popular way to experience Chinese
life at first hand and provides you with a friendly,
secure, Chinese-speaking environment.
All our host families are carefully reviewed and
screened by our accommodation officer, who visits
all families, and chooses only the best. Please
let us know your specific requirements, for example,
if you don't like dogs or you are a vegetarian.
Three kinds of Homestay
There are three types of homestay accommodation:
| Homestay

and/or of a particularly high standard or
size of home. |

Executive
standard accommodation, usually in a large
house and often providing a private bathroom. |
What can you expect from your Homestay accommodation?
Single Rooms --- For your privacy and comfort,
we provide only single study bedrooms (although
twin rooms are available if requested).
Meal and Laundry --- Generally
speaking, the Chinese host family do not provide
meal. If you
would like to have meals with your Chinese host
family, you could talk with them. The Chinese
food is quite delicious and the consumption level
in China is not high, eg. $1.5 per meal in
medium level, so you do not worry about the living
expenses. You could use the washing facilities
in the Chinese host family.
How we select our hosts --- The hosts are selected
because they are friendly people who enjoy
accommodating international guests. They provide
a warm, welcoming environment where you will feel
at home.
Our accommodation office uses strict criteria
in selecting home stays. Each host is visited
every
three month when we gather, and then continuously
keep up to date the following information
about each host:
|
Personal details |
names of all members of the family
their occupations and personal interests
the ages, school details and interests of
the children, if any
if anyone in the house smokes and their attitude
to smoking
if they have pets
whether they can cater for special diets,
such as vegetarian or gluten-free
whether any other languages are spoken at
home
|
|
The Home |
Location
distance from school
walking, cycling or bus routes to school
type of home (house, apartment)

number of bedrooms
type of bedrooms and facilities
